This is a preview of Dr. Friesen's live Mental Fortitude Skills Training Group for those interested in joining. It's a series of samples of the various topics covered in previous times the group was run. The purpose is to give you a sense of what the group is like before deciding to join. Mental Fortitude Skills Training is based on Dr. Friesen’s upcoming 2nd, (Override) 3rd (Dismantle), and 4th (Armor) books in his High Achievement Handbook Series. Live, skills-based virtual group training program that teaches the latest insights into how our minds and brains function, helping you overcome barriers to achieving your goals and living the life you want. Ideal for individuals who feel that negative emotions or thought patterns are limiting their potential and holding them back. Practical skills and techniques you can use for the rest of your life. Applicable to anyone looking to become more mentally resilient. This can include first responders, athletes, students, other high achievers, and those with mild to moderate stress, anger, anxiety and depression. Program Goals: Understand how the mind works. Learn about negative emotions and how they can be either healthy and helpful or unhealthy and unhelpful. Master skills to prevent being “hooked” or pushed around by unhelpful thoughts or emotions. Practice evidence-based techniques to build stress resilience. Identify and weaken the four beliefs holding you back. Develop ands strengthen more accurate and constructive beliefs that will increase your mental fortitude now and in the future. Details: Evidence-based skills from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Rational-Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) Includes readings, videos, and self-help exercises between sessions. Weekly 1-hour live virtual sessions over 12 weeks (sessions). Cost: $100 per session ($1200 total for the full program), billed each week as “Psychological Skills Group”. Receipts may be submitted to your insurer. Suitable for individuals aged 16 and older who are motivated to improve their mental skills and resilience. The program will only run if enough participants have signed up. The program repeats a number of times throughout the year. Next Group starts April or May 2026 and recurs every Thursdays from 12:00-1:00 PM (same day and time every week). If you miss a session, you will still be billed and you’ll be sent a recording of the session you missed as the skills are cumulative.
