Mental Fortitude Skills Training for Teen High Achievers (Based on Dr. Friesen’s upcoming 2nd book in his High Achievement Handbook Series)
A live, interactive, skills-based virtual group training program designed specifically for teen athletes looking to sharpen their mental resilience and gain a competitive edge. This program dives into the latest insights on how your mind and brain work, helping you break through mental barriers and reach your full potential in both sports and life.
Ideal for student-athletes who feel that negative emotions or self-doubt interfere with their performance, mindset, and ability to achieve their goals.
Practical mental skills and techniques you’ll apply for the rest of your life, both on and off the field. Applicable to athletes and high performers striving for peak performance, balancing high-pressure demands, and dealing with mild to moderate stress, anxiety, or mental roadblocks.
Program Goals:
– Strengthen mental resilience for performance and personal growth.
– Understand how the mind works in high-pressure situations.
– Learn how emotions can be either powerful allies or obstacles to success.
– Master strategies to prevent getting stuck in negative thought loops.
– Apply evidence-based techniques to manage stress and stay focused.
– Identify and challenge limiting beliefs that affect confidence and performance.
– Develop constructive, high-achiever mindsets to enhance resilience and long-term success.
Details:
– Evidence-based strategies from Sport & Performance Psychology, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Rational-Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT).
– Includes readings, videos, and self-help exercises between sessions.
– Weekly 60-90 minute live virtual sessions over 6 weeks (6-8 sessions).
– Cost: $100 per session, billed as “Psychological Skills Group” which should be covered by extended mental health benefits (check with your insurer before signing up).
– Suitable for individuals aged 14 and older who are motivated to strengthen their mental skills for sports, performance and life.
– The program will only run if enough participants enroll and will repeat multiple times throughout the year.
– Next Group start: Friday July 4 at 11:00 AM and then every Wednesday starting, July 9, 2025, from 12:00-1:15 PM (same day and time every week) until Wednesday August 6 at 12:00.

- Applicable to anyone looking to become more mentally resilient. This can include first responders, athletes, students, other high achievers, and those with mild to moderate stress, anxiety and depression.
- Program Goals:
- Understand how the mind works.
- Learn about negative emotions and how they can be either healthy and helpful or unhealthy and unhelpful.
- Master skills to prevent being “hooked” or pushed around by unhelpful thoughts or emotions.
- Practice evidence-based techniques to build stress resilience.
- Identify and challenge the four beliefs holding you back.
- Develop more accurate and constructive beliefs that will increase your resilience now and in the future

- Evidence-based skills from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Rational-Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT)
- Includes readings, videos, and self-help exercises between sessions.
- Weekly 1-hour-1-hour and 15 minutes live virtual sessions over 10 weeks (10 sessions).
- Cost: $100 per session, billed as “Psychological Skills Group” which should be covered by extended mental health benefits (check with your insurer before signing up).
- Suitable for individuals aged 16 and older who are motivated to improve their mental skills and resilience.
- The program will only run if enough participants have signed up. The program will repeat a number of times throughout the year.
- Next Group start is Thursday July 10, 2025 12:00-1:00 PM (same day and time every week).
